Cutting Board
Ingredients
1
block of firm tofu
(extra-firm can be used as well)
1 tbsp
cornstarch
1 cup
breadcrumbs
(or panko)
1 tsp
garlic powder
(optional)
1 tsp
paprika
(optional)
1 tsp
dried basil
(optional)
For the marinade options:
2 tbsp
teriyaki sauce
(optional)
1
clove garlic
(minced, optional)
1 tsp
cooking oil
(optional)
For the coating station:
1/2
cup all-purpose flour
2
large eggs
(or 1/2 cup plant-based milk for a vegan option)
Instructions
Compress the tofu between paper towels or in a tofu press for 15 to 30 minutes to remove water.
Cut tofu into 1-inch cubes or strips.
Blend the marinade ingredients together and immerse the tofu for no less than 30 minutes.
Set up a dredging station with flour, beaten eggs or plant-based milk, and breadcrumbs.
Coat each piece in flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs.
Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
Make sure tofu pieces don't overlap when placing them in the air fryer basket.
Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra crispiness, pre-cook tofu before air frying.
Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free option.
Best served immediately while hot and crispy.
Place unused pieces in an air-tight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
For best texture, warm up in the air fryer for approximately 2-3 minutes.
